As an actor/ress, you have the dual responsibility of learning from others and discovering a character as you go along. This convergence process is paramount to acting and your creative journey as a film or television actor. Actors and actresses drive a film or series episode forward, so versatility is the hallmark of a great actor or actress!

Acting is not simply speaking lines of dialogue before a camera or audience (in the case of theater) but adopting and internalizing a character’s thoughts, motives, and psychological profile. That is why some actors are good while only a handful are “great.” Whether you are established or aspiring, Mediagusts invites you to start an account, and submit your headshots, any reel you have, and the genres in which you would like to act. One challenge in acting is that you must impress a film director, a film producer, and / or an agent, meaning your work is not as “independent” as, say, a screenwriter or film producer. You, as an actor/ress, have the enormous ability and opportunity to explore your relationships and / or discover any “characters” or figures– from history, literature, sciences, current affairs, and others. You can enjoy the process of envisaging how you can mold yourself into or emulate any character. That is the essence of acting. The more you can “lose” yourself in another character and “become” them, the better it would be for you as an actor.
